What equipment do I need?

  • A computer or smartphone
  • A working microphone
  • Headphones (recommended to avoid echo)
  • A stable internet connection

Can I use my phone to record?

Yes, as long as your phone:

  • Has a stable internet connection (preferably Wi-Fi)
  • Can run the recording platform in your browser
  • Is used with headphones and a microphone

What type of headset or microphone should I use?

We recommend using a wired headset with a built-in microphone, as they typically provide better sound quality and reduce the chance of echo or background noise.

Avoid using laptop microphones or Bluetooth devices, which can be unreliable or lower in quality.

Do I need to look presentable on camera?

Yes. Although only audio is recorded, you’ll be interacting with your partner in real-time. Please dress appropriately.

The video is only visible to the two people speaking during the session—it’s not included in the recording we receive. That said, we encourage you to keep the video on because seeing each other’s face can help the conversation flow more naturally.

What environment is best for recording?

Record in a quiet, indoor location with no background noise.

Avoid public spaces, echoey rooms, or places with ongoing interruptions (TV, fans, traffic, etc.).

Do I need a stable internet connection to participate?

Yes. A stable internet connection is essential to ensure smooth, uninterrupted communication and clear audio during the session.

A weak or interrupted connection can result in lag, dropouts, or poor audio, causing your recording to be rejected.

What happens if my internet disconnects during the session?

If you experience a disconnect, try to rejoin the session immediately. If you can't get back in or the recording no longer works, generate a new link and record again.

How can I check if my audio setup is working properly?

When you join the session, you and your partner will be able to hear and see each other. Before clicking Record, speak with each other to ensure everything is working correctly.

Make sure that:

  • Your voice is clear and not distorted.
  • There’s no echo or feedback.
  • Background noise is minimal.
  • If you are in the same house as your partner, you should each record from separate rooms.

You will need to press Record to start the recording session.
